Beginning at age 18, Iranian men are required to complete 18 to 24 months of military service. They are not allowed to select which branch of the military they enter. This includes the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps known as IRGC or Sepah (سپاه).
In April 2019, the U.S. Secretary of State formally designated the IRGC as a foreign terrorist organization.
Because of this designation, Iranians who served their compulsory military service with IRGC are considered inadmissible to the U.S. It’s unfair for many Iranians because the service is mandatory. Such individuals are now barred from immigration to the U.S. forever.
On December 23, 2021, my law firm filed a lawsuit to challenge this designation, and fight for the rights of the ones that need our help. Doe v. Biden (US District Court, District of Columbia, Case Number 21-cv-3356).
Let’s talk about your case and find a solution together.
